"The crib was quite an undertaking! It's actually Porter's hand-me-down, which was secondhand itself. I had a vision since we found out I was pregnant of a yellow crib, but neither my husband nor I am very handy, so painting it was quite a task. We were determined not to sand it down, so we had to use Kilz primer for the crib and then used a borrowed paint sprayer that dumped a ton of paint on it. We had to go back and spread out the paint by hand with a tiny brush... a very time consuming process.
Shout out to Brad for accomplishing most of this on his own while I was in Little Rock one weekend. The changing table required a similar process, but was even more of a headache believe it or not, but now they look awesome.
The crib bedding is pieced together. My mom and I made the crib skirt and the fabric is called Rainbow Chevron by Riley Blake. The pillow was once a throw pillow on my bed that I re-covered, and actually didn't sew any of it! It's amazing how crafty you can be when laziness kicks in.
The shoe rack was a side-of-the-road flea market find in Linden, Texas. I paid $10 for it, and against my husband's will left it with the "rustic" look. Although, I did use some craft paint to make the outside edges all one color. The anchor was a gift from my mother-in-law.
My friend Marlee painted the Fischer canvas, which was the perfect addition to the nursery."
